LCM Offroad is based at Gouwe 15 in Hoogwoud, North Holland, under an hour north of Amsterdam. Come and try the tent by appointment, Monday to Friday between 09:00 and 17:00. Call or message +31 6 28075883 and the Dune will be open when you arrive.

Who is the LCM Dune for?

For anyone who wants to stay compact and still stretch out. The Dune gives you 207 cm of interior length in a tent of 60.5 kg, our lightest model. That makes it the tent to look at first if your car's roof load is tight. Two adults sleep comfortably, and so do a parent and child. Closed, the shell is just 11.6 cm high, so you hardly notice it on the road.

This tent spent five weeks in the Sahara

In Mauritania it was the Dune in grey that sat on the Land Cruiser. Sandra kept a diary on the road. This is what she wrote after a night at the Tenoumer crater, an impact crater in the middle of the desert:

“It kicked off again last night. Two tremendous claps of thunder one after the other. You could actually hear it pulling through the bowl of the crater. Then came the rain. That's when you're glad to be lying so high off the ground.”

Will the Dune fit my car?

That depends on your car's roof load and your roof racks, not on the tent alone. Count the weight of the tent (60.5 kg) plus 7 kg for a set of roof bars, so you need at least 68 kg of dynamic roof load. Our roof load check gives a first estimate based on manufacturer figures for over 300 car models, without guarantee: what your owner's manual or manufacturer says always takes precedence. Driving a Land Cruiser? Read which rooftop tent fits your Land Cruiser. Got a pick-up? Then the tent goes above the bed, on a canopy or a bed rack like our bed rack, never on the cab roof.

What's in the box?

The tent with built-in mattress, the telescopic ladder (2.3 m, up to 150 kg), the mounting hardware and the manual. Roof racks are not included: you choose those to suit your car, and they must carry the weight of the tent plus the people in it.

Mounting, use and care

The tent clamps onto two roof racks with brackets; the Allen key is in the box. Two people can manage it easily, and if you collect in Hoogwoud we do it together. On the road: 120 km/h maximum, never open or close while driving, and one person on the ladder at a time. Never store the tent wet: let it dry open at home first. Mould from wet storage is not covered by the warranty. No open fire, heaters or cooking stoves in or near the tent.

What is the delivery time?
3 to 5 working days, or collection by appointment in Hoogwoud.

What about the warranty?
2 years. Warranty claims go through LCM Offroad in Hoogwoud, not the manufacturer. Send your proof of purchase plus photos and a video of the damage and we take it from there.
